Passengers with shortness of breath

Passengers with shortness of breath requiring special medical assistance on Air Corsica flights must make their assistance request to the Air Corsica MEDA Service when booking their ticket, at least 48 hours before departure or 72 hours before departure over weekends and public holidays. Our dedicated MEDA Service for these issues can be contacted by telephone on 09 69 36 22 20, key 3, Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00 (charged as a local call) or by email on meda@aircorsica.com.

In certain cases, prior medical approval is required.

Personal oxygen concentrator (POC)

Some concentrators are permitted by Air Corsica. They can be transported and used on board. Concentrators are considered as cabin baggage.

For all other brands of concentrator, a special request must be made by email to the company’s TEX department (tex@aircorsica.com) with the safety data sheet (SDS) attached.

The use of these machines is possible during the flight. However, Air Corsica aeroplanes do not have electric sockets to plug in respiratory machines on board. We therefore recommend that you check the battery life of your machine and, if necessary, to bring extra batteries.

We recommend that you inform us of the use of this type of equipment at least 48 hours before your flight. No prior medical approval is needed, but authorisation from the TEX department is mandatory if the equipment contains a lithium battery.

Oxygen therapy provided by the company

Air Corsica can provide you with oxygen therapy. This service is chargeable (€150 per kit and per leg of the journey). To prepare for and book your travel, you must make a request during your booking, at least 48 hours before your departure and 72 hours before departure over weekends and public holidays.

Medical clearance from an Air Corsica-registered doctor is mandatory for oxygen therapy at a rate exceeding 2l/min.

Please note : if the passenger needs oxygen permanently, namely on the ground and on the flight, the passenger must have a portable oxygen concentrator or a personal oxygen tank to use in the airport. 

After approval from the Air Corsica TEX Department, personal oxygen tanks are accepted for transport in the cabin and not for on-board use.

Personal oxygen tanks

transport in the cabin of personal oxygen tanks (gas) is permitted on Air  Corsica flights, under certain conditions :

• They may not exceed a height of 65 cm.
• They must weigh less than or equal to 5 kg.
• They must have a safety system preventing accidental escape of the contents.

Important

• The use of personal oxygen tanks is forbidden on board as well as their transport in the hold.
• We draw your attention to the difficulties that could arise when passing through checkpoints at certain airports.

You must inform us of the transport of your personal oxygen tanks at least 48 hours before your flight and 72 hours before your flight over weekends and public holidays.
